Marcellin College Randwick

Aeterna Non Caduca | The Eternal Not The Transitory

Marist College Randwick continues a long held tradition of Oratory and Debating. We participate annually in the Catholic Schools Debating Association (CSDA) competition for both Public speaking in Term 1, which consists of 3 elimination rounds, and in Term 3 and 4 with the six round Debating competition.

Marcellin College is also a part of the Marist Oratory Competition held in September/October. Our public speakers and debaters are supported not only by parents and staff but by the whole school community through a ‘volunteer army’ who serve as greeters, chairman and timekeepers when we host events. In recent years, Stage 4 students have mentored Year 5/6 students at St Margaret Mary’s Catholic Primary School.

The Marcellin Graduate

They arrive as young boys dependent very much on their parents and their teachers; they depart as adults in the eyes of the law. Young men - citizens of the world. There is an impression that the Marcellin boy is cocooned on the eastern side of Anzac Parade. The challenge for him is that he sees beyond that into the broader world. He is a global citizen. He is called to reach out to others, to let go of any preoccupation with self. His destiny is, as
St Marcellin Champagnat foretold, to be a good Christian and good citizen.
